UPS 2-day Canada delivery

Yes, Canada is a vast country (9.9 million square kilometres to be exact!), but our amazing couriers can deliver across almost all of Canada within 2 working days, amazing right? Sure, there are some exceptions like Nain in Newfoundland and Ivujivik, Quebec, that take a little longer, but with prices like this, we’re sure you won’t hold that against us.

Our Canada Post service offers FastTrack customs clearance and is great value if you’re not in a hurry. Delivery takes around a week longer than most other couriers, but this is offset by the reduced customs delays. If you’re sending a personal shipment, Canada Post is a great option.

Doing business in Canada

Canada is the 9th largest economy in the world, with a GDP of $1.64 trillion. It’s well known for its largest industries; real estate, mining, and manufacturing. What’s less well known is Canada has over 27 million active eCommerce users, that’s over 72% of the population, and it’s growing fast. What’s more, over 82% of those users buy from overseas. This represents a huge opportunity for UK e-retailers.

Exporting is Great logo

Parcelhero is proud to support many British businesses exporting to Canada, and we can also help businesses manage the significant expense of returns (Reverse logistics).

It’s worth noting that if you grow your ecommerce sales in Canada you will need to register with the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) and may need to post recoverable security.

Navigating Canadian customs

Goods under the de minimis value of $20 CAD, and gifts under $60 CAD (from family or friends not companies) can travel duty and tax free to Canada. Any goods over $20 CAD will be subject to GST (Goods and service tax) of 5% or HST* (Harmonized Sales Tax) of 13-15% and an average, weighted duty rate of 1.47% (varies by product).

*Ontario charges 13% HST and New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island charge 15% HST.

Sending food to Canada

Food imports are regulated by the CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency). But don’t worry, it’s relatively straightforward sending food to Canada. So long as you’re sending non-perishable, unopened store-bought food, you should be ok. So English delicacies like Walkers crisps and Marmite are good to go!

How it works

What you can’t send to Canada

Canada is a stunning country, and it works hard to protect its delicate ecosystems. A single piece of wood or meat could introduce invasive species or disease, so it’s really important you follow Canada’s guidelines.

In addition to the normal courier restrictions, Canada prohibits the importation of any plants or plant cuttings, soiled hiking boots or firewood.
