Can the shipper pay the duty and tax on the recipient’s behalf?

Can the shipper pay the duty and tax on the recipient’s behalf?

Yes, you can choose to pay the customs fees on behalf of your recipient before the parcel is delivered.

If you would like to do this, please contact us before your parcel is collected so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Here’s how it works:

  1. We’ll take a deposit of 25% of your shipment’s declared value to cover the estimated duties and taxes

  2. A £25 + VAT administration charge will apply for this service

  3. Once customs have confirmed the final charges:

    • If the fees are lower than your deposit, we’ll refund the difference

    • If they are higher, we’ll invoice you for the remaining balance

  4. We’ll issue you with a new shipping label and customs invoice reflecting that you (the sender) are responsible for customs charges

This service must be arranged before collection, as customs responsibilities are linked to the details on the shipment’s documentation.
